Maintenance Technician

About the role

STERIS is seeking a hands‑on Maintenance Technician to ensure the reliability of facility equipment and infrastructure in a validated cGMP environment. You will work on‑site full‑time, performing both preventive and corrective maintenance while supporting continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform technical troubleshooting on diverse equipment, machinery, and control systems.
• Execute scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on high‑volume validated processing equipment.
• Review and recommend improvements to maintenance tasks, applying Lean and 5S principles.
• Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, lighting, HVAC, and general building components.
• Conduct safety inspections (daily to semi‑annual) and complete GMP‑compliant documentation, including LOTO and SDS procedures.
• Respond to off‑shift maintenance calls on a rotating 24‑hour schedule.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory and update the CMMS accurately.
• Support installation of new equipment and contribute to continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Physical strength and endurance for manual tasks.
• Experience working in a validated cGMP manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with Lean, 5S, and safety protocols (LOTO, SDS).
• Ability to work shift patterns and on‑call rotations.

Required skills

• Preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Electrical wiring, fixture repair, and HVAC maintenance.
• Use of CMMS for work order management.
• Spare‑parts inventory control.
• Mechanical troubleshooting of processing equipment.
