Maintenance Lead – Building & Systems Management

About the role

The Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing all building and system maintenance across Sun Pointe Village, Mill Creek Village, and Smith Creek Village. This role combines hands‑on technical work with team leadership, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost‑effective operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage all maintenance projects, including contractor selection, budgeting, and WorkSafe BC compliance.
• Develop and monitor preventative maintenance programs for building systems and equipment.
• Oversee the maintenance request process and ensure timely resolution of all work orders.
• Perform or delegate routine repairs such as painting, plumbing, electrical, irrigation, HVAC, low‑voltage, entry systems, and building‑fabric work.
• Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies; conduct regular audits and procure needed items.
• Provide 24‑hour emergency support and respond to after‑hours building issues.
• Lead, mentor, and schedule the maintenance team, ensuring coverage and effective workload distribution.
• Conduct regular building inspections, safety and fire drills, and ensure compliance with codes and regulations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated servant‑leadership style and ability to foster collaborative relationships with residents, staff, and partners.
• Strong knowledge of local building codes, health‑safety standards, and WorkSafe BC requirements.
• Experience managing multi‑site maintenance operations and supervising a team.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage budgets, and handle after‑hours emergencies.
