M&A Advisory Associate

About the role

Capital West Partners is seeking an Associate to support its M&A advisory practice. You will work on a variety of mid‑market transactions, helping client companies plan, negotiate, and close deals.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the execution of M&A and financing transactions, with responsibilities expanding over time.
• Prepare client presentations, compile and analyze data, and conduct market research.
• Build financial models and perform valuation analyses.
• Draft confidential information memorandums and other marketing materials.
• Research and communicate with potential acquirers.
• Coordinate due‑diligence activities and manage related documentation.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in professional services with a focus on financial analysis (audit, accounting, or advisory).
• Undergraduate business degree; finance or accounting major preferred.
• Strong academic record; CPA, CFA or CBV designation is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Self‑starter with an energetic, collaborative attitude.

Required skills

• Financial modeling and analysis (income statement, balance sheet, cash‑flow forecasting).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

What we offer

• Starting salary of $90,000 CAD plus an annual bonus.
