Long‑Haul Truck Driver (Class 1) – Regina

About the role

Six Axle Transportation Ltd. is seeking a reliable long‑haul truck driver to transport goods across provincial and territorial routes from Regina. The role involves operating straight or articulated flat‑bed trucks, handling mountain driving conditions, and ensuring cargo safety throughout each trip.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and drive Class 1/1F/A licensed trucks, including flat‑bed equipment, on long‑haul routes.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip inspections of tires, lights, brakes, cold‑storage units and other vehicle components.
• Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption; relay information to central dispatch.
• Secure cargo with tarping and verify safety and security measures.
• Maintain accurate documentation such as bill of lading, driver logbook, inspection reports and trans‑border paperwork.

Required profile

• Valid Class 1/1F/A licence for semi‑trailer trucks and a Defensive Driving Course certification.
• 1–2 years of long‑haul driving experience, preferably with mountain terrain expertise.
• Physical ability to handle loads up to 23 kg (50 lb) and endure long periods of sitting.
• Valid passport and ability to pass criminal, driving‑record and drug tests.

Required skills

• Proficient use of GPS navigation and on‑board trip recorder systems.
• Knowledge of accident/incident reporting, bill of lading preparation and driver logbook maintenance.
• Defensive driving techniques and flat‑bed cargo securing methods.
