Long‑Haul Truck Driver (Class 1) – Edmonton

About the role

We are seeking a reliable long‑haul truck driver to join Duke Carrier Inc. in Edmonton. The role involves transporting goods across provincial and international routes, ensuring timely and safe delivery while complying with all regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload cargo, securing it for transport.
• Obtain and manage permits and documentation for cross‑border shipments.
• Drive straight‑ or articulated‑tractor trailers on long‑haul routes.
• Conduct pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip inspections of tires, lights, brakes, and refrigeration units.
• Monitor vehicle condition and report maintenance needs.
• Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
• Communicate continuously with central dispatch using GPS and other navigation tools.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation.
• Class 1 (or A) driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
• 7 months to less than 1 year of long‑haul driving experience.
• Physically able to handle demanding loading tasks and long periods of sitting.
• Strong judgment, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficient use of GPS navigation and related equipment.
• Ability to operate straight and articulated tractor‑trailer trucks.
