Long Haul Truck Driver

About the role

Oillink Trucking Ltd. is seeking a reliable long haul truck driver to transport goods across distances while ensuring safety and efficiency. The role involves extensive on‑road work, handling both standard and dangerous cargo, and maintaining compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and adjust routes using GPS and computer equipment to minimise fuel use and emissions.
• Load, unload and secure cargo, including dangerous goods.
• Inspect vehicle components such as tires, brakes, lights, and cold‑storage units before, during and after trips.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs, brake adjustments and preventive maintenance.
• Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• Valid Class 1 (or A) driver’s licence.
• First Aid, Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certificates.
• Experience is an asset but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GPS navigation and related computer systems.
• Ability to handle and transport dangerous goods safely.
• Vehicle inspection and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
