Long Haul Truck Driver

About the role

Join Raj Cargo Transport Inc as a Long Haul Truck Driver based in Edmonton. You will operate tractor‑trailer A‑train rigs on national and international routes, ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods while supporting the company’s environmental goals.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and adjust routes using GPS and computer systems to minimise fuel use and emissions.
• Load, secure, tarp and unload cargo, maintaining safety and security standards.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections, monitoring tires, lights, brakes and refrigeration units.
• Obtain and manage special permits and trans‑border documentation for international shipments.
• Record hours of service, distance travelled, fuel consumption and cargo details.
• Handle emergency roadside repairs and perform routine vehicle maintenance.
• Communicate with central dispatch, relay information and process payments for goods.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation.
• Valid AZ class driver’s licence.
• Experience with long‑haul or interstate trucking is an asset.
• Ability to handle heavy loads and work flexible hours, including days, weekends and overtime.
• Willingness to participate in youth and Indigenous employment programs.

Required skills

• GPS navigation and route planning.

• Operation of computer equipment for logistics tracking.
