Long Haul Truck Driver – International Routes

About the role

We are seeking an experienced long‑haul truck driver to transport refrigerated goods across Canada and into the United States. The role involves extensive time on the road, handling cross‑border documentation and ensuring safe, efficient delivery of cargo.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and adjust routes using GPS and computer systems to minimise fuel consumption and emissions.
• Load, unload and secure refrigerated goods on tractor‑trailer units.
• Conduct pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections, including brake adjustments and tire checks.
• Perform preventive maintenance and report any mechanical issues.
• Communicate with central dispatch, recording cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel usage.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of international long‑haul driving experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Valid Class 1 (or A) driver’s licence and Air Brakes endorsement.
• Valid passport, clean criminal record and driver’s abstract.
• Willingness to travel cross‑border, overnight and for extended periods.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GPS navigation and computer‑based routing tools.
• Air‑brake system knowledge and operation.
