Long Haul Truck Driver – Full‑Time

About the role

MKD Transport Limited is seeking a reliable long haul truck driver to transport cargo across international routes from its Calgary base. This permanent, full‑time position offers on‑the‑road work with a focus on safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain special permits and required documentation for international freight.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle condition, including tires, lights, brakes, cold‑storage units and other equipment.
• Perform brake adjustments, emergency roadside repairs and routine pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections.
• Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Tarp and secure cargo to ensure safety and security during transport.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• Valid Class 1 (or A) driver’s licence with Air‑Brake (Z) endorsement.
• Ability to maintain a clean driving record and pass background checks.
• No prior experience required – training will be provided.

Required skills

• Air‑brake system operation.
• Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance.
• Cargo tarping and securement techniques.
