Line Handling Supervisor – Marine Operations

About the role

The Line Handling Supervisor ensures safe and efficient mooring of vessels during berthing and unberthing at our Kitimat marine facility. Working on a 14‑day on/7‑day off rotation, you will lead a crew that secures ships using mooring lines and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise mooring line crews in preparing, deploying, and adjusting mooring lines.
• Enforce safety protocols, conduct briefings and inspections, and promote a safe work environment.
• Maintain clear communication between mooring crews, bridge crews, and other stakeholders.
• Train and support line handlers on safe practices and emergency procedures.
• Oversee maintenance and inspection of mooring equipment and ensure supplies are available.
• Coordinate crew shifts and on‑call coverage for 24/7 operations.
• Record mooring operations, equipment inspections, incidents, and crew performance.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks and resolve conflicts.

Required profile

• Previous experience in ship mooring operations or related maritime roles.
• Physical ability to lift heavy lines and work outdoors in varying weather.
• Effective verbal and non‑verbal communication skills.
