Licensed Dental Assistant

About the role

Caulfeild Dental Centre is seeking a licensed dental assistant to join its fast‑paced clinic in West Vancouver. The successful candidate will support dental professionals by handling clinical, administrative, and patient‑education tasks while maintaining a high standard of infection control.

Key responsibilities

• Order dental and office supplies and manage inventory.
• Perform administrative functions for the dental laboratory, including invoicing and record‑keeping.
• Prepare instruments, filling materials, and temporary crowns; sterilize and maintain equipment.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, apply fluoride and sealants, and polish teeth and clinical crowns.
• Schedule and confirm appointments, manage reception duties, and handle clerical work.
• Take, develop, and process intra‑oral X‑rays.
• Fabricate and place temporary restorations; take preliminary impressions for diagnostic casts.

Required profile

• Registered with provincial or territorial dental authorities.
• Certification by the National Dental Assisting Examining Board.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to distinguish colours.
• Excellent oral communication, client focus, and teamwork orientation.

Required skills

• Waxing‑up, casting, and polishing dental restorations.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Windows, and MS Word.
