About the role
The Library Page provides essential support to keep library collections organized and accessible. Working on‑site at a Toronto Public Library branch, you will handle sorting, shelving, and a variety of ancillary tasks that ensure a welcoming environment for patrons.
Key responsibilities
- Sort and shelve books and other library materials
- Perform shelf‑reading to verify correct placement
- Pack and unpack deliveries
- Photocopy materials, straighten shelves, tables and lounge areas
- Process and repair items: typing, taping, labeling, recovering books, cleaning and inspecting audiovisual equipment
- Carry out other related duties as assigned
Required profile
- Minimum age of 14 years
- Understanding of public service philosophy and equity principles
- Ability to read English and discriminate between numbers
- Attention to fine detail and ability to follow instructions independently
- Friendly and courteous demeanor
