Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a pragmatic, business‑oriented Legal Counsel to join our in‑house legal team. You will work closely with product, commercial and strategic groups, providing clear legal guidance that enables the company to move forward confidently in a fast‑moving technology environment.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including services, license, NDA, intercompany and corporate documents.
• Provide practical legal advice on commercial, technology and intellectual‑property matters, especially those involving emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.
• Identify legal risks in product and commercial initiatives and propose actionable solutions.
• Conduct legal research and deliver concise guidance on applicable laws, regulations and emerging issues.
• Assist with discovery, due‑diligence, litigation support, audits, financing and transactional matters.
• Support IP enforcement activities, including cease‑and‑desist letters and domain‑name dispute processes.
• Monitor developments in AI, data privacy and internet law to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to the creation and improvement of contract templates, legal playbooks and internal processes.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of legal experience, preferably in commercial, technology or intellectual‑property law.
• Member in good standing of the Quebec or Ontario Bar.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
