Legal Counsel

About the role

We are partnering with a growing organization that needs an experienced Legal Counsel to join its in‑house team in Toronto. The role offers broad exposure to legal, commercial and business matters while working closely with senior leadership and operational stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of agreements and legal documents.
• Provide legal guidance to internal stakeholders on business and operational issues.
• Identify and assess legal and commercial risks and recommend practical solutions.
• Support business transactions, negotiations and strategic initiatives.
• Assist with compliance, governance and corporate matters.
• Liaise with external counsel and other professional advisors as required.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to advance organizational objectives.

Required profile

• Licensed to practice law in Ontario and in good standing.
• Several years of post‑call legal experience.
• Experience in construction law, commercial law or a related practice area.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and contract‑review abilities.
• Ability to identify legal risks and provide business‑oriented advice.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Capacity to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Sound judgment and a solutions‑focused approach.
