Legal Assistant – Hybrid (Toronto)

About the role
The Legal Assistant will provide clerical and administrative support to lawyers in Tarion’s Law department, assisting with document management, scheduling, and the coordination of litigation processes.
Key responsibilities
- Manage legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, motions, affidavits, briefs, tribunal and arbitration materials under lawyer supervision.
- Open, close, and track case files, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Schedule meetings, court appearances, and arbitration sessions.
- Prepare materials for court filings, Licence Appeal Tribunal, and Builder Arbitration Forum.
- Assist in the administration and coordination of defense and collection litigation processes.
- Maintain accurate records and filing systems.
Required profile
- Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with lawyers and external parties.
- Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
