Legal Advisor – Structured Products

About the role

The Legal Advisor will join the Transactions and Specialized Products team within Capital Markets at National Bank. You will support the structured products sector, ensuring that product development and commercialization comply with Canadian securities regulations while managing legal and regulatory risks.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in all stages of structured product development and commercialization.
• Draft and review prospectuses, coordinating with tax, accounting and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide legal opinions to inform business decisions and ensure compliance with Canadian securities law.
• Analyze reports and legal documents to protect the Bank’s interests.
• Formulate recommendations on product development and risk management for the Bank and its subsidiaries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law and membership in the Quebec Bar.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in corporate and securities law.
• Demonstrated ability to draft legal documentation.
• Strong knowledge of the Canadian regulatory framework applicable to capital markets.
• Interest in financial products and capital markets.
