Land-based Healing Program Assistant

About the role

The Land-based Healing Program Assistant works with the LBH Coordinator to deliver land‑based healing activities that reconnect participants with land, culture and language. The role supports prevention, intervention and after‑care for intergenerational impacts of residential schools.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning, implementation and evaluation of the LBH workplan and activities.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships to coordinate the LBH program.
• Work with individuals of all ages and multigenerational families to help them define treatment goals.
• Assist with set‑up and take‑down at events and gatherings.
• Manage and maintain program equipment and supplies.
• Gather data for program reporting and evaluations.
• Ensure a culturally safe environment that respects privacy and confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Knowledge of St’át’imc culture, language and protocols.
• Experience working with Indigenous peoples and organizations.
• Strong organizational, time‑management and prioritisation abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Physically fit with a personal self‑care plan.
• Ability to travel to remote areas and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Current criminal records check for work with vulnerable individuals.
• Valid BC driver’s licence and vehicle.
