Laboratory Assistant (Full-Time, Onsite)

About the role

Dynacare is seeking a full‑time Laboratory Assistant to join its on‑site team in the Greater Toronto Area. You will work directly with patients to obtain high‑quality blood and other specimens, ensuring a smooth and compassionate experience while supporting the laboratory’s operational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Collect blood, urine, drug, breath‑alcohol, and other specimens using proper venipuncture and collection techniques.
• Perform ECGs, Holter monitor hookups, and paternity testing as required.
• Accurately enter patient and test data for Ministry of Health requisitions.
• Sort, label, and transport specimens according to SOPs and regulatory standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and ensure secure handling of records.
• Contribute to departmental quality metrics, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Secondary school completion and a Laboratory Assistant training program or equivalent.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with empathy and professionalism.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekdays 7 am‑6 pm and Saturdays 7 am‑1 pm.
• MLPAO/CSMLS certification is strongly recommended.
