Lab Helper A (Part‑time)

About the role

The School of Human Nutrition at McGill University is seeking a part‑time Lab Helper A to support daily operations in its Food Lab. This short‑term position runs from late July to the end of December 2026 and is ideal for a current McGill student looking to gain hands‑on laboratory experience.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, including cleaning sinks and work surfaces.
• Remove perishable items and ensure proper waste disposal.
• Restock essential supplies such as gloves, hairnets, and other consumables.
• Receive and verify incoming orders and inventory shipments.
• Assist with basic lab set‑up and routine maintenance tasks.

Required profile

• Current McGill student (Student RA) who has completed at least one Food Lab course.
• Authorized to work in Canada and willing to work on the McGill campus in Quebec.
• High school diploma or equivalent; no prior experience required.
• Proficient in English (verified level # on a 0‑4 scale).
