Kindergarten/Grade 1 Teacher (Temporary, Full‑Time)

About the role

The School District No. 5 is seeking a qualified Kindergarten/Grade 1 Teacher for a temporary full‑time assignment at Pinewood Elementary School in Cranbrook. The position starts on June 16, 2026 and runs until June 25, 2026, or until a permanent incumbent returns.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver curriculum for Kindergarten and Grade 1 students in accordance with BC educational standards.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to families and school leadership.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and support staff to support student learning.

Required profile

• BC Teacher Certification preferred.
• Degree or formal training in early childhood or primary education.
• Relevant teaching experience at the primary level.
• Ability to work on‑site for the duration of the contract.

Required skills

• Knowledge of BC curriculum guidelines for Kindergarten and Grade 1.
• Classroom management techniques.
