Key Account Manager – Consumer Goods (6‑month contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Key Account Manager to join a top‑tier global consumer‑goods company on a 6‑month contract (with possible extension). Reporting to the Senior National Sales Director, you will drive sales growth, manage key retail partnerships and support commercial planning across major accounts in North York.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of sales strategies, targets and commercial initiatives.
• Lead and mentor a team of Key Account Managers and analysts.
• Develop and manage sales forecasts, budgets and trade‑spend planning.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners, negotiate joint business plans and identify growth opportunities.
• Oversee promotional planning, monitor market trends, competitor activity and pricing strategies.
• Track and analyse customer performance metrics and provide insights to senior leadership.
• Identify performance gaps and implement corrective action plans to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
• 8–15 years of experience in the CPG/FMCG industry.
• Strong knowledge of retail merchandising, distribution and logistics.
• Proven sales leadership, negotiation and account‑management experience.
• Experience with category management and trade marketing.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and forecasting.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Strategic, results‑driven mindset with strong leadership capabilities.
