Junior Post Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Post Engineer to join Netflix Animation Studios’ Post Engineering team in Vancouver. The role supports editorial suites, review rooms and the screening theatre, ensuring reliable operation of our high‑end animation workflow.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 troubleshooting and operational support for editorial suites (Avid Media Composer), story and review rooms, theatre and audio suites (Avid Pro Tools).
• Diagnose and resolve first‑line issues with Avid Media Composer, Avid Pro Tools, Autodesk RV and other VFX/animation review tools.
• Operate and maintain Q‑SYS‑based room control and DSP systems, including routing, presets, room states and monitoring.
• Set up, operate and tear down internal and external screenings, production reviews and special events, handling Xenon‑based digital cinema projectors and ensuring correct colour space (SDR/HDR, Rec.709/P3).
• Perform basic verification of audio/video signal flow, KVM paths and playback systems, escalating complex problems when needed.
• Document issues clearly and collaborate with Post Engineering, Production, Facilities and vendors.
• Support day‑to‑day media and review workflows such as Avid editorial pipelines and Autodesk RV.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in post, AV or VFX environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for specialty screening spaces and theatre environments.
• Understanding of SDR and HDR colour pipelines for review and screenings.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for screenings and critical milestones.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
