Junior Game System Designer – Mobile Games

About the role

Join our team as a Junior Game Designer at IGG Canada. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply, and candidates with a relevant educational background and a passion for game design are welcome.

Key responsibilities

• Design engaging gameplay features that enhance player enjoyment and retention under the Lead Designer’s direction.
• Ensure game mechanics, level progression, and in‑game systems deliver a rewarding, immersive experience.
• Prepare gameplay and system documentation, including art resource requirements.
• Drive system projects to completion by coordinating with art and programming teams.
• Conduct product testing, inspect the game for issues, and address deficiencies.
• Utilize AI tools to create prompts, generate design references, explore concepts, draft documentation, and accelerate iteration.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the team.

Required profile

• At least 6 months of professional or intern experience as a Game Designer or Game System Designer contributing to a commercial mobile game.
• Passion for games with strong interest in gameplay and system design, plus solid understanding of mechanics and progression systems.
• Proficiency in Figma, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office/Google applications.
• Familiarity with the Unity engine for reviewing and testing builds (no programming required).
• Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude to support design and documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada without employer sponsorship.
