Junior Driver

About the role

As a Junior Driver, you will support the Logistics team with safe and efficient delivery, pickup, loading, and unloading of furniture and event equipment. This position is designed to develop your driving and event‑logistics skills under the guidance of experienced drivers and the Logistics team.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate assigned company vehicles to complete local deliveries and pickups according to company procedures.
• Assist with the safe loading and unloading of furniture and event equipment, handling items carefully.
• Support on‑site event setups and strikes, placing and removing furniture and equipment per floor plans.
• Follow safe work practices for driving, material handling, and on‑site activities.
• Perform basic vehicle inspections and report any concerns to supervisors.
• Maintain a professional and courteous approach when interacting with clients, venues, and the public.
• Communicate delays, issues, or concerns promptly to drivers, crew leads, and the Logistics team.
• Handle furniture and equipment with care, performing basic cleaning when required.
• Develop knowledge of local routes, venues, and event‑logistics procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Previous exposure to special events, film, trade show, or hospitality industries (advantageous).
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean abstract dated within the last 30 days.
• Familiarity with local venues such as hotels, convention centres, and loading docks (advantageous).
• Air‑brake endorsement certification (bonus).
• Experience as a residential or commercial mover (highly valued).
• Ability to lift or carry items up to 50 lb safely.
• Own CSA‑approved steel‑toe shoes or boots.
