Junior Data Scientist (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Data Scientist to join a client organization in Canada on a remote basis. This position is ideal for recent graduates or early‑career professionals eager to apply data analytics, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques to real business problems.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze structured and unstructured datasets to uncover trends and insights.
• Support the creation of reports, dashboards, and visualisations.
• Assist with data preparation, cleaning, and validation.
• Apply statistical techniques to inform business decisions.
• Contribute to predictive modelling and machine‑learning initiatives.
• Integrate data from multiple sources to improve reporting accuracy.
• Document analytical processes, methodologies, and findings.
• Identify opportunities for process optimisation through data analysis.
• Collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders on data projects.
• Stay updated on emerging data‑science trends and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Clear communication of technical concepts.
• Attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and R.
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau for visualisation.
• Understanding of statistical analysis and data‑visualisation principles.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of Git version‑control.
