Junior Construction Estimator – Toronto/Hamilton Area

About the role

ICIONIT Construction is expanding its estimating team and seeks a detail‑oriented Junior Construction Estimator with institutional, commercial, and industrial (ICI) experience. Working closely with the Senior Estimator, you will help prepare competitive bids for projects across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing detailed cost estimates for ICI construction projects.
• Identify and track new tender opportunities via online platforms.
• Prepare pre‑qualification packages for senior review.
• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to define project scope.
• Perform quantity take‑offs and material/labour pricing analysis.
• Request, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Assemble complete bid packages and support tender submissions.
• Provide estimating information for project hand‑over to management teams.
• Maintain organized bid files, pricing records, and estimating documentation.
• Contribute to improvements in estimating tools, templates, and procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of construction estimating experience, preferably in ICI projects.
• Ability to review tender packages quickly and accurately under tight deadlines.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
• Experience using online tender platforms such as Bids & Tenders.
• Proficiency interpreting architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Knowledge of COR safety standards is an asset.
