Junior Carpenter

About the role

Black & McDonald Limited is looking for a motivated Junior Carpenter to join its team at a client site in Oromocto, New Brunswick. The role involves general home maintenance and repairs on occupied and vacant residential units for CFB Gagetown. You will work in a supportive, safety‑focused environment with opportunities for training and career growth.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair work on residential units, including siding, windows, doors, interior painting, and crack filling.
• Identify and resolve minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues.
• Respond to service calls promptly and complete work in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment on site.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors and residents as needed.
• Document work performed using company technology.
• Adhere to health, safety, quality control, and environmental policies.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years’ experience in residential property maintenance or a similar field.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and ability to work independently.
• Organized, self‑directed and able to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and respond to after‑hours emergencies.
• Valid driver’s licence and legal entitlement to work in Canada.
• Interest in continuous learning and career development.
