Junior Accounts Receivable / Payable Associate

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Accounts Receivable & Payable Associate to join our Toronto team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will support daily AR and AP activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Process customer payments received via cheque, EFT, e‑Transfer, credit and debit cards.
• Post cash, cheque and card transactions, prepare bank deposits and maintain logs.
• Investigate invoice and payment discrepancies and follow up with internal and external stakeholders.
• Contact customers regarding past‑due invoices, credit holds and releases, and escalate high‑risk accounts.
• Enter new customer data, manage credit applications and generate aging reports.
• Process vendor invoices, reconcile statements, respond to vendor inquiries and obtain proper approvals.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close activities.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in a related accounting function.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Post‑secondary education in accounting or a related field is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Effective verbal and interpersonal communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
