Java Backend Developer – Integration Services

About the role

The role focuses on designing and developing integration and web services for Simons' digital ecosystem. Reporting to the Director of Solutions Architecture & Software Engineering, the developer will build robust micro‑services, ensure system performance, reliability and scalability, and support the continuous evolution of the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement back‑end integration services using Java.
• Develop, maintain and support web services and inter‑system data exchange.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to propose effective technical solutions.
• Containerize applications with Docker and orchestrate them using Kubernetes.
• Create unit tests to guarantee code quality and stability.
• Provide effort estimates and build prototypes to validate technical choices.
• Enhance existing applications by adding new features and optimizing code.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in Java application development.
• Strong knowledge of relational database modeling (SQL).
• Familiarity with microservices and event‑driven architecture.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both French and English.
