IT Support Specialist

About the role

Valnet is looking for a motivated IT Support Specialist to join its Montreal office. In this hands‑on, full‑time position you will be the primary point of contact for employees’ technology needs, ensuring that every team member has reliable equipment and support to perform their work.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of employee devices – provisioning, configuring, shipping, and recovering laptops and peripherals for onboarding and off‑boarding.
• Coordinate shipping and handling logistics across locations, maintaining accurate asset records.
• Track remote assets for distributed and work‑from‑home staff, ensuring recoverability.
• Provide first‑line IT support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Handle desk moves and workspace setups, relocating and configuring equipment as needed.
• Maintain up‑to‑date inventory and asset‑tracking records for the entire equipment fleet.
• Escalate complex technical problems to senior IT staff.

Required profile

• Some experience in an IT support or help‑desk role, or equivalent education and certifications.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage equipment logistics.
• Comfortable with physical tasks such as lifting and moving equipment.
• Clear communication and a service‑oriented attitude.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and handle competing demands.
• 2–3 years of help‑desk or IT support experience is a strong asset.

Required skills

• Foundational troubleshooting of common hardware platforms and operating systems.
• CompTIA A+ certification (advantageous).
• Experience with audiovisual equipment setup and sound systems (plus).
• Valid driver’s license and experience with shipping logistics.
