Investment Banking Associate – Generalist

About the role

Jefferies is expanding its newly formed Toronto Investment Banking team and is looking for a motivated Associate to lead and support transaction execution across multiple industries and product areas. This role offers direct exposure to senior bankers and meaningful responsibility in both deal execution and client interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead core aspects of M&A, advisory, and capital‑markets transactions, managing processes, financial analysis, and client deliverables.
• Oversee analysts in building financial models, valuation analyses, and supporting materials, ensuring quality and accuracy.
• Prepare and present client materials such as pitchbooks, strategic reviews, and transaction updates.
• Draft and review offering memoranda, CIMs, management and lender presentations, and prospectuses.
• Coordinate due‑diligence activities, including Q&A, data‑room management, expert sessions, and calls.
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients on day‑to‑day matters, cultivating senior‑level relationships.
• Drive internal processes, including deal memoranda, committee materials, and cross‑functional coordination across Jefferies’ global platform.

Required profile

• 2–4+ years of investment banking experience, preferably with prior associate‑level exposure.
• Strong analytical capabilities with a track record of managing multiple live deals simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to interact with senior management.
• Highly resourceful, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and within deal teams.
