Intermediate Visual Arts Teacher (LTO) – Semester 1

About the role

We are seeking a qualified teacher to deliver Intermediate Visual Arts instruction for Semester 1 on a Long‑Term Occasional (LTO) basis. The appointment covers one period (approximately 0.33 of a full‑time load) and is funded by the Simcoe County District School Board.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess Intermediate Visual Arts curriculum for assigned classes.
• Maintain classroom management and create an inclusive learning environment.
• Report student progress to the principal and collaborate with other teachers as required.
• Fulfil supervisory duties and any additional instructional programs assigned by the principal.

Required profile

• Valid Ontario teaching certificate or equivalent qualification for Visual Arts.
• Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in line with the Ontario Human Rights Code and AODA.
• Willingness to provide two professional references, including current or most recent supervisor.
• Ability to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check prior to start date.

Required skills

• Effective classroom instruction and student assessment.
• Knowledge of visual arts teaching methods and materials.
