Intermediate Electrical Engineer – Buildings

About the role

We are looking for an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our Halifax team, focusing on the design, development and implementation of electrical systems for commercial and institutional building projects. You will collaborate with architects, engineers and project managers to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design contract documents for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and communication systems.
• Participate in building condition assessments and energy efficiency studies.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design support staff and manage project budgets and deliverables.
• Prepare proposals, respond to RFPs and lead proposal initiatives.
• Provide input for construction cost estimates and perform construction administration and field reviews.
• Develop and execute commissioning, start‑up and start‑up activities.
• Prepare technical RFQs, review bid submissions and vendor documentation.
• Support design and commissioning of health‑care facilities, including PPP projects.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer registration in Canada (or eligibility).
• Minimum seven years of experience designing electrical systems for commercial and institutional buildings.
• Additional certifications such as PMP, RCDD, LEED AP, etc. are an asset.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to project sites.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience using AGi32 lighting simulation software.
• Familiarity with ElumTools (preferred).
