Intermediate DevOps Specialist

About the role

The Intermediate DevOps Specialist joins MDA Space’s Satellite Operations team to bridge development and operations for the CHORUS satellite mission. You will design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that automate software delivery while ensuring the highest security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement automated pipelines from code commit through build, test, and deployment.
• Automate deployment of applications, databases, message queues (e.g., Kafka), and cloud services such as AWS Lambda, Amazon EKS, and managed services.
• Use infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) to provision and manage AWS storage, networking, and compute resources.
• Configure and automate DNS, Public Key Infrastructure (certificates), and Active Directory services.
• Integrate static code analysis, security scanning, and open‑source vulnerability tools into CI/CD workflows.
• Collaborate with Satellite Operation Specialists, Cyber Security, SecOps, and Software Developers to ensure seamless pipeline integration and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Mid‑level DevOps professional with experience in satellite or aerospace software environments.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with operations, security, and development teams.
• Commitment to continuous learning and process improvement.

Required skills

• CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Infrastructure‑as‑code: Terraform, AWS CloudFormation.
• Amazon Web Services services: Lambda, EKS, managed databases, storage, networking.
• Message queue technologies: Apache Kafka.
• Static code analysis and open‑source vulnerability scanning tools.
• DNS management, Public Key Infrastructure, Active Directory.
