Intermediate Cyber Security Specialist (Contract)

About the role

We are looking for an Intermediate Cyber Security Specialist on a contract basis in Toronto. The role focuses on designing, implementing and maintaining cybersecurity strategies, programs and architecture to protect the organization’s information assets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute cybersecurity strategies and architectural designs aligned with business objectives.
• Perform security control testing and assurance activities across systems and applications.
• Conduct audits and assessments against NIST, CIS and ISO frameworks.
• Implement the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) for cloud and on‑premise environments.
• Deploy and manage security solutions such as Microsoft Defender and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies.
• Collaborate with public‑sector stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity.
• Demonstrated experience with security strategy, architecture and risk management.
• Proven track record in control testing, assurance and audit activities.
• Experience working in the public sector is mandatory.
