Intermediate Architect / Architectural Technologist (5+ yrs)

About the role

ZO1 Architects is seeking an experienced Intermediate Architect or Architectural Technologist to join our team. You will work on a diverse portfolio that includes residential, hospitality, senior living, commercial and industrial projects across the Ontario/GTA region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage design development documents from site‑plan approval through building permit and tender phases.
• Prepare complete drawing sets for zoning, site‑plan approval, permits, tender and construction.
• Ensure high‑quality construction documentation for medium to large residential and commercial projects.
• Assist with construction administration, including shop‑drawing review, specifications and site instructions.
• Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants and authorities having jurisdiction.
• Produce detailed architectural details, schedules and material specifications.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of architectural design experience in Ontario/GTA.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
• Experience with high‑density residential, hotel, commercial, low‑rise wood‑frame or senior‑living projects is an asset.
• Advanced knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Parts 3 and 9.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Revit.
• In‑depth knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (Part 3 & Part 9).
• Construction documentation and detailing.
• Preparation of drawing sets for permits, tender and construction.
• Construction administration and shop‑drawing review.
