Interim HMR Department Manager

About the role

Atlantic Superstore is seeking an Interim HMR Department Manager to lead a key department in its Dartmouth, NS store. You will be responsible for driving sales, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining operational standards while supporting the company’s commitment to community and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the department and ensure sales and profitability targets are met.
• Train, coach and develop associates in customer service, product knowledge and merchandising.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels, pricing, and attractive product displays.
• Monitor inventory, coordinate replenishment with other departments, and manage departmental expenses.
• Communicate regularly with store management and other department managers to align on store‑wide goals.
• Identify and recruit talent, build diverse teams, and foster an inclusive workplace.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
• Previous retail management experience, preferably in a departmental or specialty store setting.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand for extended periods.
