Intensive Family Support Worker – Zero to Six (Full‑time Contract)

About the role
The Intensive Family Support Worker joins the Zero to Six team within the Home and Community Outreach division. You will provide virtual and home‑based support to families with children from birth to six years, using the ARC treatment model to promote resilience and healing.
Key responsibilities
- Provide client services in line with the agency’s Children’s Mental Health Service Philosophy.
- Offer family support on emotion management, attachment, behavior, and parenting strategies.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in partnership with families.
- Deliver home‑based support, including parent education, coaching, and skill development.
- Assist families in locating resources and provide crisis support as needed.
- Collaborate with team members, colleagues, and community partners to enhance family wellbeing.
- Communicate openly with families, staff, and supervisors.
- Work autonomously within a multi‑agency team and community context.
Required profile
- Diploma or degree in Child and Youth Work, Early Childhood Education, B.S.W., or Social Services.
- 3–5 years of successful field experience, or 5 years of relevant education plus experience.
- Minimum 3 years of mental‑health experience with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their caregivers.
- Current First Aid, CPR, and WHMIS certifications.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and mental health.
- Knowledge of attachment‑based and trauma‑informed therapeutic interventions.
- Ability to collaborate with community services and partners.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and conflict‑management skills.
- Exceptional organizational ability to juggle multiple demands.
Required skills
- First Aid certification
- CPR certification
- WHMIS certification
- ASQ Ages and Stages Questionnaire certification (preferred)
- ChYMH training (preferred)
- Circle of Security training (preferred)
