Industrial Electrician – Full-time Permanent

About the role

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. is seeking a qualified Industrial Electrician to join its Winnipeg facility. This permanent, full‑time position involves maintaining and repairing a wide range of industrial electrical equipment in a fast‑paced, refrigerated environment. The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure reliable plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Test electrical and electronic equipment for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
• Maintain, repair, install, and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors.
• Service electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic/pneumatic control systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems.
• Interpret electrical code specifications and conduct preventive maintenance programs.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and code specifications for equipment layout.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Required profile

• Industrial Electrician Red Seal Certificate.
• Other trades certificate or diploma.
• Ability to work at heights and in cold/refrigerated environments.
• Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand‑eye coordination.
• Physical capability to handle heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including early morning, evening, night, weekends, and overtime.
