Indigenous Program Administrator

About the role

The Indigenous Program Administrator supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs that recruit, manage, and advise Indigenous students at the UBC Okanagan Campus. Working both independently and collaboratively, the role engages with internal and external stakeholders to enhance student experiences and community outreach.

Key responsibilities

• Provide information on degree programs, admissions, and requirements to prospective Indigenous students and families.
• Develop and maintain relationships with student sponsors and represent UBC at Indigenous community events, education fairs, and outreach initiatives.
• Assist students with admissions processes, financial aid applications, and program selection.
• Lead Indigenous youth summer programs and support youth outreach activities.
• Offer academic, financial, and personal advising, connecting students with campus resources such as academic advising, wellness services, and cultural supports.
• Deliver communications support and manage administrative functions within Indigenous Programs and Services.
• Supervise junior staff and student employees, including peer advisors, co‑op students, and work‑study staff.

Required profile

• Experience in student recruitment, outreach, or Indigenous community engagement.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse groups.
• Demonstrated ability to provide academic, financial, and personal support to students.
• Capacity to work independently while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.

• Competitive salary range of $5,692.25 – $8,179.50 CAD per month.
