Indigenous Intake & Crisis Case Manager (Contract)

About the role

This contract position supports the mental health and well‑being of Indigenous peoples (First Nations, Métis, Inuit) across the Muskoka and Parry Sound districts. As a member of the Crisis/Intake Clinical Team, you will deliver culturally sensitive assessment, intake and crisis‑intervention services, both in‑person and through mobile outreach, while participating in a 24/7 on‑call rotation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage walk‑in self‑referrals and crisis situations for Indigenous consumers with cultural competence.
• Respond to emergency department requests and provide timely crisis assistance.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and coordinate follow‑up services.
• Participate in a 24/7 on‑call schedule to ensure continuous support.
• Implement recommendations from the Indigenous Opioid Strategy and support individuals with addiction challenges.

Required profile

• At least one year of experience working with serious mental illness or addiction.
• Strong knowledge of Indigenous cultures, history, and health impacts.
• Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary rural team.
• Valid Ontario G or G2 driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows.
• Experience using Outlook.
• Familiarity with data‑management software.
