About the role

The Canada Impact+ Research Chair Nominee in Advanced Digital Technologies will lead a world‑class research program within Algoma University's Department of Computer Science and Mathematics. This permanent position is funded through the national Impact+ initiative to address critical challenges and translate research into societal and economic benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a transformative research agenda in advanced digital technologies.
• Secure and manage Impact+ funding (up to $1 million per year) and oversee its allocation.
• Build and lead an interdisciplinary research team, including graduate students and post‑doctoral fellows.
• Collaborate with industry, government, and international partners to drive commercialization and impact.
• Mentor and supervise highly qualified personnel, fostering the next generation of researchers.
• Contribute to the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology through teaching, service, and strategic planning.
