ILS Obsolescence Engineer

About the role

The ILS Obsolescence Engineer will manage the obsolescence risk of COTS equipment and support life‑cycle planning for defence programs. You will work closely with OEMs, internal teams and customers to ensure continuity of supply and compliance with national security requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain obsolescence risk levels of COTS components, including Last Time Buy and End‑of‑Life data.
• Produce logistics support analyses such as sparing, provisioning, and end‑of‑life extension studies.
• Develop Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) plans and life‑cycle planning for in‑service programs.
• Perform component and system reliability calculations and life‑cycle cost analyses.
• Liaise with OEMs to develop corrective actions for obsolescence issues.
• Evaluate Fit, Form & Function (FFF) substitutes or design changes when parts become obsolete.
• Generate ILS deliverables from vendor data, including FMECA, LSAR, LORA, RBD, spares analysis, technical manuals, disposal and hazardous materials analyses.

Required profile

• University degree in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in naval or aerospace ILS and obsolescence management.
• Experience with IEC 62402 obsolescence management processes.
• Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
• Eligibility for registration with the Controlled Goods program.

• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
