Hydrovac & Combo Vac Operator – Contract Position

About the role

We are seeking skilled Hydrovac Operators to join our roster, operating hydrovac trucks for excavation projects across Alberta.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the hydrovac truck to and from the site.
• Operate the hydrovac truck safely and efficiently.
• Dig and direct swampers during excavation.
• Ensure successful completion of hydro‑excavation processes.
• Provide high‑quality work while maintaining efficiency.
• Comply with company policies, health and safety procedures, DOT regulations and hazardous/waste requirements.
• Work a 12‑hour rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.
• Travel as required; certain jobs may be eligible for a living‑out allowance.

Required profile

• Valid Class 3 License with Airbrake Endorsement.
• H2S Alive Standard certification.
• First Aid & CPR – Level C.
• Common Safety Orientation (CSO).
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test.

Preferred qualifications

• Class 1 License.
• Clean Drivers Abstract.
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification and WHMIS.
• Ground Disturbance Level II.
• Confined Space Entry & Monitor certification.
• Fall Protection training.
• Aerial Work Platform certification.
