Human Resources Generalist – Baie‑Sainte‑Anne & Bay du Vin

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Human Resources Generalist to support our manufacturing facilities and harvesting sites in New Brunswick. The role combines strategic and operational HR functions, helping to build a positive workplace culture in the peat moss industry.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HR support and advise managers and employees on policies, labor relations, and benefits.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, collective agreements and company policies.
• Manage employee relations issues, including grievances, disciplinary actions, investigations and conflict resolution.
• Support performance management processes, including evaluations and development plans.
• Lead or participate in joint committee meetings to maintain positive labor‑management relationships.
• Monitor HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism and engagement and provide recommendations.
• Lead full‑cycle recruitment: job posting, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer management and onboarding.
• Act as a strategic partner to managers for workforce planning and staffing needs.
• Contribute to employee‑engagement initiatives, internal communications and social events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 2 years of HR experience; a combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Experience in a unionized environment (preferred).
• Experience in a manufacturing setting with multiple sites (preferred).
• Strong initiative, rigor, discretion and ability to manage priorities effectively.
• Solid problem‑solving ability.
