Human Resources Business Partner

About the role

The Human Resources Business Partner will act as a strategic advisor to business leaders at Canada Cartage, aligning people strategies with the company’s growth objectives. Based in Mississauga, the role supports both operational and corporate teams, ensuring compliance, engagement and performance across a dynamic logistics environment.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to translate business goals into workforce plans, including organizational design, succession and talent development.
• Provide strategic advice on workforce planning, talent pipelines and leadership effectiveness.
• Analyze people data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, and propose actionable solutions.
• Support change initiatives such as restructures, growth projects and transformation efforts.
• Coach managers on performance management, employee engagement and leadership best practices.
• Manage complex employee‑relations matters, including investigations, discipline and terminations.
• Ensure consistent application of employment legislation, policies and procedures.

Required profile

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably as an HR Business Partner or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of federal or provincial employment legislation.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive organizational change.
• Solid business acumen with a track record of linking people decisions to business outcomes.
• Excellent communication, judgment and problem‑solving skills.
• CHRP/CHRL designation or progress toward it is an asset.
