HSE Lead

About the role

The HSE Lead will support and lead safety programs, policies and standards for Barnhart Crane’s branch and clients, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. The role involves incident management, training development, and acting as the primary HSE liaison with clients and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain branch‑level HSE systems and safety programs.
• Coordinate incident investigations, manage post‑incident activities and ensure quality reporting.
• Lead safety inspections, audits and investigations with operational staff and HSE advisors.
• Distribute safety alerts and best practices across all NCSG companies.
• Provide HSE information to clients, support pre‑bid meetings and produce safety performance reports.
• Monitor and update company and client HSE databases to reflect regulatory changes.
• Perform field inspections, identify hazards early and maintain a visible presence on site.

Required profile

• Current NCSO, CRSP, CSP or similar safety designation (or in process).
• Degree, diploma or certificate in occupational safety preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, oil sands, mining or heavy‑equipment environments.
• Ability to access oil‑sands sites in Fort McMurray and the Wood Buffalo Region.
