Host/Hostess for Vineyard Restaurant

About the role

The Host/Hostess will be the first point of contact for guests at Grand Bend Stirling Sands Vineyards, delivering a warm and professional welcome. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager and the Manager on Duty, you will ensure smooth seating, reservations, and overall guest flow.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests at the entrance and escort them to the bar or dining area.
• Manage reservations, both in‑person and via phone, and maintain the reservation system.
• Clean and reset tables promptly after guests depart.
• Communicate guest needs and relevant information to kitchen and service staff.
• Process bills and payments when required.
• Take take‑out orders by phone or in person.
• Continuously learn menu items and beverage offerings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a restaurant host/hostess is preferred.
• Ability to work well under pressure and multitask effectively.
• Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a customer‑service focus.
• Physical stamina for long periods of standing, walking, and occasional lifting of heavy items.
• Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
