Host Ambassador (Part‑time, Red Deer)

About the role

The Host Ambassador supports Canada Homestay Network by qualifying new and existing host families in the Red Deer region. This permanent part‑time position blends community outreach with sales, ensuring families meet the organization’s standards while promoting cultural exchange for international students.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑person interviews and home visits for new host families and revisits for existing hosts in Red Deer and surrounding areas.
• Validate that rooms and family environments meet Canada Homestay Network standards and confirm information from virtual interviews.
• Upload interview data, criminal record checks, host agreements and other documentation following CHN protocols to ensure data integrity.
• Promote and sell the CHN Host program to prospective families, addressing questions and resolving conflicts.

Required profile

• Excellent interpersonal and sales abilities with a genuine interest in cultural exchange.
• Strong communication and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and local community partners.
• Reliable vehicle with at least $2 million liability coverage, a valid driver’s licence, mobile phone, digital camera and high‑speed internet.
• Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.

• Effective business writing and organizational attention to detail.
