Home Delivery Driver / Distribution Center Colleague

About the role

JYSK Canada is hiring a Home Delivery Driver / Distribution Center Colleague in Pitt Meadows. As a driver you deliver goods to pre-determined clients with excellent customer service, and when not delivering you act as a Distribution Center Colleague, performing warehouse tasks such as receiving, picking, packing and shipping.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles before and after trips and document them properly
• Pack and load products onto trucks according to company specifications
• Maintain daily contact with the route dispatcher, documenting delivery status, mileage, fuel costs and daily issues
• Unload and deliver customer products safely with no damage
• Report accidents and incidents promptly and follow workplace procedures
• Follow the procedure manual for warehouse processes and complete routine documentation such as pick sheets, manifests and unload lists
• Perform physically demanding general labour, including manually loading and unloading goods from a trailer
• Accurately receive, pick, pack, ship, check and load customer orders
• Assist new colleagues in learning DC processes and help maintain inventory accuracy
• Operate a variety of warehouse equipment and stay proactive about accident and incident prevention

Required profile

• Full Class 5 driving licence (no restrictions) and clean drivers abstract
• Valid licence for material handling equipment and ability to be certified in-house
• Minimum 1 year of professional or delivery experience and 1 to 2 years of warehouse and material handling equipment experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
• Good knowledge of the GVRD and Fraser Valley road systems and navigation
